These unique stud earrings are made from authentic Campo del Cielo Meteorite fragments. The Campo del Cielo meteorite event happened approximately 5000 years ago in the provinces of Chaco and Santiago del Estere in Argentina. The meteorite crater field stretches 11.5 miles long and 2 miles wide, leaving over 26 significant impact craters. As of today, over 100 tons of meteorite fragments have been excavated, making this the most meteorite material recovered from one strike.
I'm told that pieces of meteorite are frozen with liquid nitrogen, then smashed to create thousands of smaller crystals, and those crystals are what I use to make these unique earrings. The meteorites are a natural alloy of iron, nickel, gallium, iridium, and other rare metals, which makes them unusual and precious. They are mounted to surgical stainless steel posts and are hypoallergenic. Each pair comes in a beautiful presentation gift box.
